DOLOMITES VIA FERRATA HUT TO HUT GUIDED TOUR

The Dolomites of Northern Italy are the birthplace of via ferrata. Via ferrata was developed during World War One when the Dolomite mountains were the front lines, it was originally used as a way to move troops through vertical mountain terrain. Now it’s just plain fun! Via feratta is trekking on steroids. It involves following cables and ladders through steep mountainous terrain with big exposure and spectacular views.

No climbing experience is necessary, you just need to be in excellent physical shape and have an adventurous attitude. Our hut to hut via ferrata tour is perfect for those with a little or no previous climbing experience but who are looking for something a lot more adventurous than regular trekking. We even seen highly experienced climbers have a blast on the via ferrata.

On our guided via ferrata tours with an internationally certified mountain guide we can help you navigate it all. We will provide all the technical equipment you will need such as the via ferrata set up. You just need your own clothes, footwear and helmet. On some of the more difficult sections your guide may use a rope as an additional belay.

We meet in the central Dolomites town of Cortina d’Ampezzo and spend the first couple nights in a 4-star hotel as we go on a warm up via ferrata just outside of town. Then it’s off to the high alpine Italian huts via ferrata routes and trekking trails. The huts are very comfortable with 4-course meals, wine lists, showers and even sometimes a sauna! Sleeping arrangements are dorm style with sometimes an opportunity for a private room upgrade.

Along the way we will explore old WWI tunnels and emplacements and take in the vistas of one of the world’s most beautiful places. For fit and adventurous souls this is THE way to see the Dolomites!

Our Dolomites via ferrata tours are led by American IFMGA certified guides who have extensive experience in this wonderful part of the world.

Thanks again. Wonderful experience!
