Our Mountain Guides
The mountain professionals at International Alpine Guides are dedicated to providing you a safe and memorable mountain experience. Owner/Director & IFMGA guide Dave Miller has a tight-knit team of mountain guides that are chosen based on their outgoing and friendly nature, their formal guide training, and their dedication to the profession of mountain guiding. We take pride in our group of “quiet crushers”, leaders in their fields with many of them doing amazing things in the mountains, yet down to earth men and women. No flashiness here! Just a team of approachable mountain professionals dedicated to our guests.
We have simply some of the highest standards in the guiding industry. All of our lead technical mountain guides have had outside guide training by the American Mountain Guides Association (or other IFMGA-standard associations). Some are internationally certified IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guides - the highest level of mountain guide certification in the world. All backpacking & hiking guides have naturalist training and training in Leave No Trace principles. All of our guides are trained in wilderness emergency medical protocols.
How to Choose a Mountain Guide
For any technical mountain guiding, we highly recommend you look for guides that are certified or have guide training by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). The AMGA is the standard in the United States for guide training and certification of mountain guides. It is not only the leading organization for training mountain guides in the United States, the AMGA is the only mountain guiding organization in the United States that is recognized by the International Federation of Mountain Guides (IFMGA).
