Custom Dates Trip:

If you have already arranged a custom dates trip with us, please contact us and we will email you a link to your reservation dashboard where you can register and pay securely. If you are interested in a custom trip and have not already contacted us, please do so and we will be happy to set that up for you.

What’s Required:

Domestic One Day
To confirm we require a deposit of 25% with the balance due 30 days prior.

Domestic Multi Day
To confirm we require a deposit of 25% with the balance due 60 days prior.

International (Including Alaska & the full JMT hike)
To confirm we require a 25% non refundable deposit with the balance due 120 days prior.

Upon registration, we will send you a confirmation packet with additional forms to fill out.

 Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Domestic One Day Trips

Scheduled Trips & Courses

  • Prior to 30 days before trip, entire course fee and deposit is refunded minus a 10% administrative fee on the 25% deposit. If balance has been paid prior to 30 days prior there is a 2.5% admin fee on the total balance.

  • From 30 - 7 days prior to the trip start date, you may receive a credit for a future trip minus a 50% cancellation fee.

  • Within 7 days prior to trip start date, NO REFUNDS or credits will be given and no reschedule will be allowed. Travel insurance can be purchased to cover the course fee and other costs.

Custom private Trips

  • Prior to 30 days before trip start date, entire course fee and deposit is refunded minus a 10% administrative fee on all moneys paid.

  • Within 30 days prior to trip start date, NO REFUNDS or credits will be given and no reschedule will be allowed.. Travel insurance can be purchased to cover the course fee and other costs.

Custom Private Trips

  • Prior to 120 days before trip start date, a cancellation can be made minus the 25% non-refundable deposit.

  • Within 120 days prior to trip start date, NO REFUNDS or credits will be given and no reschedule will be allowed. Travel insurance can be purchased to cover the trip fee and other costs.

Gift cards & Credits

Gift cards and credits issued are not refundable for cash. The amount of any gift card or credit can only be refunded in the form of a credit per our cancellation policy.

Cancelled or Under-booked Trips

International Alpine Guides & California Alpine Guides LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to inadequate sign-ups or for other unforeseen circumstances. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO WEATHER, UNCONTROLLABLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & OTHER UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL.

CAG/IAG reserves to right to reschedule or switch a trip to an alternative itinerary in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

In the event a scheduled trip has inadequate sign-up we may be able to offer the option of a discount on our custom guiding rates to allow IAG to still run the trip. This is at IAG discretion. Otherwise the trip could be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.

CAG/IAG is not responsible for any travel costs associated with cancelled trips. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover the cost of cancellation and trip fees and accident insurance. 


Weather & Environmental Credits

California Alpine Guides LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to severe weather or other uncontrollable environmental circumstances that make the trip unsafe or impracticable to continue. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO WEATHER, UNCONTROLLABLE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & OTHER UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL. . A weather credit, or partial weather credit, can be issued for a domestic trip within California that has been cancelled odue to weather, environmental conditions or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. This decision is solely at the discretion of the trip leader and/or the directors of CAG. Weather credits are not issued for international trips and for trips that are not operated by CAG. Weather credits are non-transferable.
