“Just got back from the 6 day Freeride ski trip in Engelberg, Switzerland. The trip was awesome. Our guide was Dave Miller, the owner and he was exceptional. His knowledge of the mountain including the terrain and the snow quality is amazing. Dave did a great job of tailoring the skinning/skiing to match our abilities. He also is very focused on safety - both from an avalanche potential as well as the terrain. Unlike in the US where hazards are carefully marked, in Europe, you on your own as soon as you leave the “piste” and with the magnitude of the mountains, it was really important to navigate away from potential cliffs and other hazards. Dave did a really good job of ensuring we knew where to go (and more importantly, where not to go). Dave is very easy going and he is a fountain of knowledge about backcountry skiing and Europe so it made it very enjoyable given how much time we spent with him over those 6 days. This is my third trip with IAG - I previously did the AVIARE 1 course and the Sawtooth Ridge Tour. I would highly recommend IAG for any of their trips/courses.”
