Lead Rock Guide
AMGA Rock Guides Course
AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor
Carlin began climbing as soon as they were left unsupervised in central New Jersey, where there are trees instead of rocks. In college they discovered “real” climbing with their school’s competitive team, and were soon elected captain. Over the past seven years, climbing brought them to the golden Mojave in Joshua Tree and the sweeping granite faces of the Sierra Nevada, both of which they now call home.
Carlin is passionate about teaching, mentorship, and building positive spaces in which to explore the mountains - even for those who've felt left out in the past. They also hold a B.S. and M.S. from Northeastern University in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science.
