Nicole Jordan

Lead Backpacking & Trekking Guide

Nicole grew up in Maryland but it wasn’t until she moved to the Shenandoah Valley for college at James Madison University where she fell in love with the mountains. Within a few days following her graduation, she didn’t know what she was going to do with her degree in Sociology so she moved to Southeast Alaska to work as a sea kayak guide. This started her lifestyle of travel and adventure. Mountains, glaciers, and the ocean led her to her next home, New Zealand, before returning to the states and landing in California.

She started guiding throughout the state with most trips taking place in Yosemite and a few others spots in the Sierra. Despite not sitting in one place for more than a few months at a time she has found herself guiding in California for a few years now.

She’s spent her free time backpacking through mountain ranges around the world including the Himalayas in Nepal, the Andes in Colombia, the Southern Alps of New Zealand, and volcanoes throughout Central America and Southeast Asia. While she loves exploring mountain ranges in other countries, she has found a home in the Sierra and spends her time picking up new outdoor skills and always seeking out her next adventure.
