PALISADES FOURTEENERS CLIMB OVERVIEW

The Palisades in the High Sierra of California are stacked with fourteen thousand foot peaks. On this intensive 5-day Palisades climbing tirp we attempt three to five of the major fourteeners in the Palisades region from the West Side via quicker rock climbing routes while avoiding the tedious ice routes up the East Side. This allows us the possibility of climbing more peaks in a shorter amount of time.

The goal here is peak bagging up easy but strenuous technical rock climbing routes. However, this trip is also great training for more general advanced alpine climbing in general. You will gain valuable alpine rock experience that will translate to alpine climbing routes around the world.

We leave out of the Bishop Pass trail head on the East Side of the Sierra Nevada out of the town of Bishop, CA. After crossing Bishop Pass and entering Kings Canyon National Park, we wrap around to our base camp in the beautiful Palisade Basin. From our basecamp, we begin an intensive 3 days of climbing, attempting to summit as many of the California Palisades fourteeners as conditions and group abilities allow.

A great trip for those who are ticking off the California fourteen thousand foot peaks and for those who simply want to get in some great High Sierra climbing.
